A busy, bewildering, exceedingly jokey science-fiction film that looks like a Star Wars spinoff made in an underdeveloped galaxy. The premise is pretty straight forward for a science fiction movie: in a far-flung galaxy water has become the most hard to come by commodity and a big, evil. ''The Ice Pirates,'' which has been rated PG (''Parental Guidance Suggested''), contains dialogue heavily laced with double-entendre witlessness. Thoughtful spfx for a shoestring budget. You can tell. Improves upon each viewing. Hilarious comedy. "The Ice Pirates" The time is the distant future, where by far the most precious commodity in the galaxy is water. They are sold to a princess looking for her dad. The last surviving water. In a distant future scarce of water, space pirates get caught after stealing ice from a spaceship.
